Warm Colours – Cool Colours
Yuri Albert (b. 1959) belongs to the second generation of Moscow Conceptualism. The subject of his art is art itself: how it is made, taught and understood. In the series I Am Not… he imitated the manner of famous artists. From 1987, in the cycle Elitist-Democratic Art, he translated painting into the languages of the blind, the deaf and sailors. His works are in museum collections, including the Zimmerli Art Museum (USA).
